we did three great dives in Mantigue Island with Amir and it was great! Went here for my Advanced Open Water training, and man, it was worth every single cent!!Sir Amir is a straight shooter yet patient with novice divers like me. It was what i was expecting from an instructor. He was quick to diagnose what i was doing wrong and was quick to offer remedial action.The dive briefings were clear, and dive objectives were clearly communicated (DSMB Deployment, navigation, headings etc).He willingly shared a ton of tips and realization from his wealth of knowledge accumulated from more than 30 years of diving experience. Even those not found in the AOW course material. As a case in point, upon knowing the dive computer (perdix 2) i was using, he ran me through advanced features (Eg GF99 and SurGF) and explained to me in layman terms. He has a gift in explaining difficult to comprehend concepts in as simple terms as possible using various analogies that a student can easily grasp.Post training action points were specific, actionable and were meant to make me improve as a diver. This newly acquired skill will allow me to explore my home island of Guimaras.Outside of dive training topics, we talked anything under the sun. From politics to food to local folklores to COVID’s impact to the tourism indurstry to dive center operations to dive compressor maintenance, no topic escapes sir Amir’s interest.Scuba de Oro’s staff were respectful, polite and helpful. Not to mention excellent cooks too. We never dove hungry. Meals were served during the 2-day AOW training.Highly recommended dive training center. We had a blast and it was an experience like no other.We look forward to coming back again in the future.

We did the advance open water course with Amir. It was lovely, we caught bad weather and Amir still made our experience on the island incredible. Much more than a diving instructor, super attentive to our needs and a very good teacher. I would recommend it a thousand times. Amir, you have two friends in Madrid.
All the places Amir and Scuba de Oro took us to were so rich with life. Camiguin is the first place I’ve dived where its rarer to go in the water without seeing a turtle.I already had my open water license before diving with them, but it was great to get tips on how to move under water to preserve air. I lasted 40minutes in my first dive, and 55 minutes on my last.It’s an added bonus that the food on board was great too.

We had a wonderful time snorkeling and scuba diving with with Vladimir and the Scuba de Oro crew. We were impressed by their warm welcome, hospitality and professionalism, taking all safety measures into account. The latter being very important to me as a beginning scuba diver. The boat was very comfortable and allowed us to fully relax and enjoy the beautiful surroundings in between dives. The crew was very knowledgable and keen to show and provide more information on the different species we encountered during our dives. The cherry on the pie: four Eagle Rays.When I encountered a medical issue after diving they kept supporting me and providing me with advice on what to do. This was very much appreciated and helped reassuring me.
Scuba de Oro is truly one of the best dive operators in Camiguin and Misamis Oriental. They offer the best service with their attentive dive crew. They truly prioritize the safety of the divers with their excellent divemasters, especially the dive instructor. Onboard meals are simple yet delicious. Their famous banana cue is a must-try!
I’ve been diving with Amir and his crew for over 15 years. As for a dive instructor and operator, I have yet to find better service anywhere else in the Philippines. The day long dive trips are well organized, expertly and enthusiastically guided and just a great way to “dive” in to the underwater world of Camiguin Island. In addition, I took my Tec40 together with Amir and subsequently Amir was my Tec45 instructor. At Scuba De Oro you are truly received with open arms and a smile and they will go out of their way to make each dive a memorable one. To describe Scuba De Oro team in one word….”passionate”.
Great experience diving with the Scuba De Oro crew in 3 dive sites around Mantigue Island! We saw a lot of turtles!Easy to book the dives via text and FB messenger with the owner, AmirDive Instructor JJ gave me great guidance while underwater and we had a good discussion on a myriad of topics about Camiguin during the surface intervals.Entire crew (Mimai, Dante, & Captain Allen) were very accommodating & hospitable! They always made sure I was hydrated and properly equipped for the divesMorning snack (fried bananas & hot local cacao drink) & Lunch (eggplant, chicken, pork broth, rice, vegetables & pineapples) was delish!Boat was amazing as it had a bathroom, dining table, and changing room. We did our first discovering diving with Amir and his crew. I just have good words, they are amazing, took care every moment of us and in a very personalized way. Fantastic eight days of diving with owner instructor Amir, JJ, Mimie, Dante and Captain Allen. Loved every minute. My fiancé went through the PADI course with Amir and then we dove for over a week in the balmy coral & fish filled Bohol Sea off Campus Guion Island, Mantigue Island, Cabuan and the Sunken Cemetery. Saw literally tons of turtles, a huge cuttlefish and lots more. We will be back. Thanks for the great dives!
